Hilarious comedy at Hudson Village Theatre
Opening night of Grant Tilley’s Bingo Ladies, the Musical had audience members roaring with laughter as the talented and spirited cast brought Friday night at the bingo hall to new life. Each character had a unique purpose for getting behind the dabbers but their intermingled stories were eventually revealed in an unexpected and hilarious turn of events. Bingo Ladies, the Musical, is a fun-filled comedy delivering a social message on the perils of gambling. Unique, a brilliant cast, highly entertaining and extremely well worth seeing, the play won a standing ovation from the full-house audience at the Hudson Village Theatre. The play was the brainchild of Grant Tilly, who composed the music and wrote the book and lyrics for the original one-act version (nominated for three Betty Mitchell Awards) and the full-length version. Liz Gilroy was the inaugural director and Meredith Zwicker the musical director. The play continues until August 30, so if you have the chance, don’t miss this opportunity for a great evening of entertainment. Hudson Village Theatre is located at 28 Wharf Road, in Hudson’s old train station. This permanent site includes a full time stage, professional lighting system and comfortable, staggered seats that allow for full and unobstructed viewing of the stage. Following Bingo Ladies, the Musical, will be another production, the WWII drama, Jake’s Gift, starting on September 16 and running until Sept 20.
